What a PERFECT idea for you! I did the same thing when I was in high school. My family didn't travel but I always wanted to and the only reason I got a job was so I could leave. I can't wait to hear more. Here is a suggestion as you look at resources: Lonely Planet is a great travel resource, also airbnb is cool too (you have to be 18+ but it would be a cool place to start).
